Unilock Announced as First Company to Locate to New Tonganoxie Business Park

The Leavenworth County Development Corporation announced at its annual meeting January 12 that Unilock, a landscape paver manufacturer headquartered in Toronto, will be the first occupant in the Tonganoxie Business Park.

Unilock company representatives have committed to invest $18.9 million in the project and create 17 new jobs in two phases within the first five years. The first phase of the project will include a storage facility and a 7,000 square foot check-out building on 16.35 acres. Phase two will consist of a 40,000 square foot office and manufacturing facility. Longer term expansion plans may include additional shifts, jobs and buildings.

LCDC Executive Director Steve Jack first showed the property to Unilock in 2016.  The Leavenworth County Port Authority helped the company secure a temporary site until the business park was ready.

The Tonganoxie Business Park is 135 acres of industrial zoned, city-owned property three miles from I-70. Unilock will be purchasing a total of 34 acres and will move from its temporary headquarters to its permanent location in the park later in the year.

“Unilock is well known in the landscaping industry and we are thrilled that this quality company has selected Tonganoxie as its new location to distribute and later to manufacture its product for customers throughout the Midwest,” Jack said.
